One of the better kept secrets for nightlife destinations in Newport is located at the far end of Thames Street past the core activities on the wharves and surrounding area. This area features smaller, local bars where locals often gather with friends year-round. If a tavern-like, neighborhood atmosphere is what you're after, this end of town is definitely the place.
